Bombings in Baghdad

The destruction in the Middle East continues as explosions ripped through Baghdad neighborhoods on Tuesday. According to CNN, at least 46 people are dead. ISIS is claiming responsibility for one of the attacks.

In the city of Sadr, the deadliest incident occurred when a car bomb exploded, killing at least 24 people and leaving 71 others wounded. CNN also says that a bomb squad was sent and deactivated another bomb in a car around the same area.

Two more bombs went off in the al-Shaab neighborhood in northern Baghdad, killing at least 19 and wounding 44. The Interior Ministry stated that a suicide bomber could be the cause of one of the explosions.
ISIS claimed to be responsible for the al-Shaab attack, which was told in a statement on its news agency, SITE intelligence group said on Twitter.

Another explosion took place in the popular market in the Nahiyet al-Rashid neighborhood of south Baghdad, when a suicide bomber detonated another explosion. At least three people died in that incident.

The attackers have not yet been identified for the other two incidents, but the attacks came at a time in which ISIS is believed to be behind them. Known ISIS attacks have claimed more than 100 lives in the past week.
