Spring Training Has Begun

Spring Training has begun, as the MLB season is on its opening legs. The returning champion Kansas City Royals look to begin their title defense this season, and the runner up New York Mets look to expand on their recent success. Going into the season, we can infer many things from the past season, and I will be discussing them below.
1. A team can never be counted out in the beginning. Nobody expected the New York Mets to come out and win the NL East, and eventually the National League. Many also did not expect the Houston Astros to come close to the playoffs, but they found a way.

2. Pitching can play a much bigger factor than one would think. The Dodgers were a team to beat during the regular season thanks to their two superstar arms of Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke, however Greinke recently signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Jake Arrieta for the Cubs also came out of nowhere, as the Cubbies made the NLCS for the first time since 2003.

3. The young guys are starting to rule the MLB. Mike Trout and Bryce Harper are two of the biggest superstars of Major League Baseball, and they are both under 25 years old.

This season is looking to be a closely played season with many possible World Series contenders, so get ready to eat peanuts and Cracker Jacks as baseball goes into full swing!
