Coincidentally, TIME and NBC News announced that Disney confirmed upcoming Star Wars merchandise for the Dec. 18 release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first film in the franchise in 10 years.

The internet is buzzing with reactions to Star Wars Day, fans everywhere celebrating one of the most famous sci-fi films of all time. From cosplaying the famous characters, to artwork and even culinary crafts, the force lives on for fans everywhere.
