Casey Endicott Wins Big at JROTC Rifle Competition

Casey Endicott is a 16-year-old junior at RRHS. She is also a First Sergeant in JROTC. I decided to ask Casey some questions about the rifle competition held at WCTC October 5.

  • Hi Casey, so everyone wants to know: how in the world did you win such a hardcore competition?
Well, it isn't that hard; it just takes a ton of practice and a great shot.

  • How do you really think you won the competition and what was your score?
I really don't know; I'm a good shot. That's all I know. My score was a 258 out of 300.
  • That’s a lot of points! Again, nice job. Whom did you compete against?
We competed against Greenbrier East. Their top shot came in second.

  • What was the reason for the competition?
It was a scrimmage to see what team needs work on what and how to improve, but it’s a big win for our team because we worked really hard for this.

  • So what kind of competition was held at this particular event?
Greenbrier beat the Wythe County Rifle team at nationals in Anniston, Alabama in February, so we decided to challenge them.

This weekend, Casey has another challenging competition in Tennessee. Let’s wish her luck and hope she can bring home another big win!
